Building a Portfolio to Communicate Your Spatial Sauce

How do you create a portfolio that will land you the job? In this workshop, we will walk through the basics of a portfolio including platform, structure, and content. By the end of the workshop, participants will have looked at a variety of portfolios and have a their portfolio.

Juliana McMillan-Wilhoit is passionate about growing the geospatial profession by assisting early and mid-career professionals create a career that they love. Juliana is an analyst by day for a large Supply Chain organization and by night runs Tabulae Spatial Services. Juliana is known for her expertise on geospatial portfolios through her annual Portfolio Challenge, frequent speaking engagements, and blogging.


Eligibility and capacity

We will select up to 20 recent graduates (prioritized), graduate students, and undergraduate students to participate in this workshop. Selection will be based on your AAG membership status, your career needs, and time of registration. If you are selected, we will notify you ahead of the workshop and provide you all the workshop details and session links. If you are selected, the expectation is that you will participate in all sessions of the workshop.


Audience

The selected participants should be be geography students/recent graduates who will be looking for a non-academic job within the next year.
