The Protected Areas Specialty Group (PASG) seeks to promote and encourage research, teaching, and service in the field of Protected Areas, which encompass the creation and management of parks, forests, monuments, historic sites, wildlife refuges, conservation areas, preserves, wilderness, sacred spaces, and other landscapes, buildings, or places protected by law or custom in the United States, other countries, and international areas on Earth and other planets.
