There are many ways to become a part of the Advancing Geography Centennial Fund Campaign, from making an unrestricted gift or pledging to the endowment fund, to contributing to the Association's critical initiatives. Unrestricted gifts are especially valuable because they allow the Association to address the needs of the discipline and the organization with maximum flexibility, some donors may wish to designate their gift for a specific purpose or fund.

Endowment Fund

The main purpose of the Advancing Geography Centennial Fund is to create a long-term, stable endowment fund. This will allow us to advance geography broadly in the years ahead. Interest accrued from the endowment will provide sustained resources that can be used to strengthen academic geography, provide leadership training, and ensure a means for capitalizing on unique opportunities that arise in the future.

Other funds

You may choose to designate all or part of your Advancing Geography Centennial Fund contribution to support the following critical initiatives:

• AAG Student Research and Travel Fund.
  
• Geography and the Humanities.
  
• Mel Marcus Fund for Physical Geography.
  
• AAG International Geographic Information Fund
  
• Enhancing Diversity Fund: Your contribution can be earmarked for initiatives to enhance diversity within the discipline and the geography community.
• AAG Center for Global Geography Education.
• AAG Public Policy Initiatives.

Naming Opportunities

Often the friends and family of geographers may wish to recognize or memorialize their loved ones. The Advancing Geography Centennial Fund Committee will gladly accommodate such requests. Please contact centennialfund@aag.org for more information.
